Keiretsu Forum South-East has entered into a resource collaboration with the Georgia Institute of Technology. The objective of this collaboration is to further innovation, entrepreneurship and technology transfer in the South-East region. This educational relationship provides entrepreneurial-minded faculty and students of Georgia Tech with exposure to well-prepared and experienced executives in a role-model context.

“Keiretsu Forum provides resources, mentoring and funding to entrepreneurs while delivering investor members with the highest quality deal flow, and exclusive networking opportunities for our sponsors,” says Howard Lubert, co-founder of Keiretsu Forum South-East and Mid-Atlantic chapters. “Last year, we funded 48 companies at over $7 million, funding one out of every 15 applications.”

This collaboration creates significant opportunities for Georgia Tech students. As a Keiretsu Forum South-East partner, Georgia Tech graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and faculty will be exposed to the entrepreneurial education provided by Keiretsu Forum, along with insight into Atlanta’s growing investor community. In addition to participating in Keiretsu Forum South-East’s monthly chapter meetings, students will gain the unique experience of participating in Keiretsu Forum’s due diligence process, which is highly respected in the investor community.

“Keiretsu Forum curates innovative companies in domains ranging from biotechnology to software, business-to-business and direct to consumer,” says Andrés García, Executive Director of the Petit Institute for Bioengineering and Bioscience and Regents’ Professor in the Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering at Georgia Tech. “This diverse exposure will be beneficial to our students and our hope is that Georgia Tech students can also provide insight into the industries that they study.”
